Description

The Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, built in the 13th century and renovated in the 18th, is dominated by its extraordinary majolica-tiled dome in Arab-Norman style. The dome, covered with colored majolica tiles and scales in yellow, green, and blue, is one of Palermo's most recognizable symbols. The baroque interiors house valuable artworks and the venerated Madonna of Mount Carmel.
